Not so sure, think the gave their best during their short season and they are sunk now. Not liking the play of Shaw, Rozival, or Toews right now. And when your captain is in a funk, it carrys over. In the first round, you had guys stepping up. Not happening vs Detroit. The Hawks are the better team, but they are in a slump at the moment and the Playoffs are not the time to try and figure things out. Looking to me like Pittsburgh and LA will be in the finals. Will be a good one with those two teams.

Hawks live another day. Winning tonight 4 - 1, forcing a must win game 6 in Detroit. Getting to Howard will be tough in their house.

Hi Tracy, I was unable to make it home for the game last night but they came through for ya!!! Detroit is a team that has a lot of young skill and a very new team also. But the Hawks have the experience for the games that count in my opinion. When 2 equally skilled teams meet in the playoffs such as this series my money will usually be on the team with more experience. And the Black Hawks definitely have more experience.

Game 7 will probably be a fantastic game to watch no matter what the outcome! Go Hawks Go!

Hawks win 2 - 1 in overtime!!! A nail biter. And the Hawks scored with 1.47 left in regulation and some jerk ref waved it off. Crap call, but in the end, the outcome was a Hawk victory. Last time the Hawks and Wings face off as division rivals. Detroit moves on to the Eastern Conference next year. It does not get any easier for the Hawks. The face off against the LA Kings Saturday. They are outstanding right now and I have to imagine they are favored. Still, this is the playoffs. They play the games for a reason. Heck, the Hawks were down 3 games to 1 in the best of 7 to Detroit and came back and won. I am still pumped... and a few sheets to the wind. Newcastle Brown Ale's were going down good tonight.... curses... I have to work in the AM too... Oh well... Big win tonight!!!

Congrats. mate.

I've got an RDO tomorrow so I'm safe to have a couple of quiet ones tonight to celebrate the win. Getting bloody cold so whisky will suffice.

Have not stopped back for a few days to update. Hawks are now up 3 games to 1 on the defending champs, The LA Kings. Hoping they can come home on Saturday and put them away. Boston is the biggest surprise, but you called it, Joel. They are all over Pittsburgh.

Tracy, your team is doing very well against L.A. I suspect it will be one heck of a game Saturday.

You know no matter what anyone says about the Bruins getting lucky and having all the ref's calls go there way. They are still winning. You can't tell me they have gone this far only because the ref's are favouring them.
It is playoff Hockey and the ref's know to let them play and play hard. That is what helps make the playoffs so exciting.

Pittsburgh has a tough team in itself and some very skilled players technically speaking. They just can't seem to play tough enough and still use their skills at the same time. When they try to keep up with Boston physically they forget how to skate, pass and subsequently score...

Tracy, I still feel in my gut that Boston will win it all this year but would not be at all upset if Chicago beats L.A. and then gives Boston a good run for the money...

My heart is with Chicago... Can't help it. They are a different kind of beast and have a great captain in Toews. But, they cannot look ahead. The Kings are a tough hockey team and a good tune up for Boston. They need to finish them first. Right now, the Hawks are winning without Toews and Kane consistently on the score sheet. That has to change. Also, Dave Bolland needs to get back to form. Can't help but think he may still be injured.

Well the Stanley Cup Finals started last night... and WOW!!! Boston came to play quickly taking a 2 - 0 lead, and in the third period, went up 3 - 1. However, the Hawks did not want to lose home ice and tied up the game in the third period 3 - 3. Both teams wanted that game and it took three overtime periods to decide it. Yes, my Hawks prevailed. Team alliances aside, what a game! Today, I am exhausted. I feel this is going to be a great battle for Lord Stanley's Cup.

Hawks/Bruins series tied at 2 games a piece in the best of seven series. Sheesh! These overtime games are killing me, but Wow!!! Four games played and this is an amazing series.

Hawks up three games to two in the best of seven series with a win tonight. Patrice Bergeron (Boston) was sent to the hospital during the game... Do hope he is okay. Did not see what caused it, he pulled up a bit going behind the net. Toews (Hawks Captain) did not play a single shift in the third, but he was roughed up pretty good tonight.

Gosh darn game six is on Monday night... gggrrrrr... Cassi has a bball tournament. What to do, what to do... hmmmmm....

I had no doubt in my Hawks in this series. The comeback against Detroit showed me their resolve. I guess one could argue the same about Boston vs Toronto. Add to that, the emotion involved in the Boston resolve after the marathon bombing. Emotion can get you so far. At the end of the day it comes down to wanting it more. And the Hawks did from the opening faceoff of the lockout shortened season. They put the petal down and went all in.

As far as the playoffs concern, when is the last time all original six teams were in the playoffs? This year Toronto rejoined the mix. And it was an added lift to a shortened season. These playoffs made me forget about the things that ticked me off about the lockout. The Hawks start attributed to that for me... The electricity of the playoffs to others. This was one of the best post seasons I can recall. Boston / Chicago. WOW. The last one that stood out for me was 1994 - Vancouver / New York Rangers Finals. Perhaps this year, tops that for me.

Last night my daughter had a basketball tournament and I missed most of the first period. One of the other Dad told me, this is going to go seven games. I told him, "No. This is going to be over tonight. Hawks will dig deep and pull it off, I can feel it". Man did they ever. I hope you all can see this footage.

Absolutely Fantastic mate !!!
WOOO HOOO !!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS Tracy !
Can't get the footage yet. I'll have a look for it on Youtube.

Hey, I can now add to the 2010 prints stuck on the wall here at work.
Now we have to work on the Cats winning the Flag from Andrews pesky Swans in the AFL... Hard road ahead.

But for now.... GO HAWKERS !!!!!
I'll have a couple of shots for ya tonight.... and it'll be my 'good stuff' !!!!

A couple of teams came over to Aus recently. played to sell-out crowds in Sydney & Melbourne. I'll try to get there next time as I didn't know it was on. Such a shame unless we pay for it all I see is short pieces, YT or you guys (thank goodness).
