Re: Olympics
I had a laugh at the badminton comp.
A few teams sent home for 'tanking' so they could get an easier road to the finals.

Re: Olympics
I bet that the order to lose came from the coaching staff as the players did not look at all happy at having to serve into the net. The coaches didn't want the Chinese team to come top of their pool as the would have had to play the other Chinese team which had against all expectations only came second in their pool. Regardless it was hardly in line with the Olympic mantra Better, Faster, Stronger.

Indeed...
We got our 2nd gold...
Sailing and another sailing gold expected tomorrow. All they have to do is turn up and sail. They've already won.

It sends shivers down my spine when our media make statements like that about any of our athletes. you are either dead certain of their prowess or you are mocking your media......which is it Alby.

They'd gained enough points through the rounds to make them unbeatable...provided they safely passed over the start line.
Even if they sank the boat they still get gold. Which of course, they did. Won gold that is .
Looks Like our basketballers are currently getting hammered by the 'yanks'

11th spot now, just watched some BMX, It's funny seeing adults on those small dinky bikes, although they're very good.
Seems to be more a kids sport.

Re: Olympics
can't watch it.
Adults on those bikes. To me.. just a weird look.
"Hey, I'm an olympic medalist" "Really, what what sport?"
"BMX" "Ha ha !! No, really... what sport?"
That's what the conversation would be.

Re: Olympics
It all looks very dangerous to me, there is always a final tally of....Gold..Silver..Bronze..broken arms..broken collar bones...damage to liver etc etc.......but you are right the sight of a supreme athlete on a small bike does not look right somehow..but to them.sanshoe wrote:11th spot now, just watched some BMX, It's funny seeing adults on those small dinky bikes, although they're very good.

I know that Andrew.sanshoe wrote:Fair go Alby, they're elite athletes
Saw a couple of races this morning before heading off to work...
Quick speedy races. Big blokes on little bikes just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'm showing my age.
Tell me... Is there Cross country or downhill bike races. To me, that makes more sense and more 'watchable'. I.M.O.
