Sorry we didn't catch up Les. Bad timing.
I agree with ANdrew.... I know Mandy would love that part of the world as well.

Re: Off to Australia
I am sorry too but that's life. Now in Singapore weather very humid but I will take what comes as I am sure it will be better than an English winter. Spent all morning at the Singapore botanical gardens, Eileen was in her element in the orchid garden I had to almost drag her out. We also had our best meal of the visit so far there. Real bacon (one of the few places here that are not bowing to Muslim pressure) our hotel has a big sign outside their restaurant, "No pig meat sold here" despite that surrender I have not seen any guest that looks Muslim so they are pissing off all their guests for nothing. China town is the place we will be visiting later this evening, if the rain stops. Can't complain first rain we have had and it only started on our way back from the botanical gardens. What is happening in the big bash????.

Re: Off to Australia
Thank you Andrew, just what I wanted to hear. I am glad we made a conscious decision NOT to fly from Manchester as the penning hills would be impossible with snow, so good job it is Birmingham.

Re: Off to Australia
Arrives back in Gainsborough yesterday is now 6.30am, I have been up since 4.50am just could not go back to sleep again. I believe that for only the second time in my life I have got jet lag, normally I can sleep for England but on landing in Australia 7 weeks ago and now back home England have definitely been an exception to that rule. Must be age related LOL. We actually arrived back in England in beautiful weather Andrew all the snow that you warned me about had a actually gone (thank goodness). Apparently we have had some really bad high winds while we were away and the two extra large plastic covers we bought before we left these shores, one for the car because there is too much stuff in the garage to be able to get the car in as well and one for all the garden furniture. The one covering the furniture was up the chestnut tree despite the fact that I had put 6 house bricks
on it to hold it down. The one covering the car was on the floor behind the the car and it only stayed there because one of the cars rear wheels was on top of it, a manoeuvre which I do not remember performing the wind must have a actually blown the car back onto it, I always leave the hand brake off if leaving the car for any length of time as the brake pads tend to bind on if the brake is left on and my drive is flat luckily. Still we miss the daughter but its nice to be back in one piece without a host of friendly countries trying to find the plane. What a crazy world we are living in.

Glad you got back ok Les, I did hear that only Rotherham got that snow.
Couple of days you'll be saying "did we actually go away"
I guess we'll look forward to some holiday snaps now..

Re: Off to Australia
Thank you Andrew. I had only been back 12 days when I caught man flu. I have been in bed for 3 days but got up today to go to the doctors. He told me that it is a very bad strain of virus that is going around our area. He told me that my lungs are conjested and has put me on antibiotics. I will be back with more pics when I can breathe properly. The doc said, "Why didn't you stay in Australia until spring, so do I now.

Hope you get better soon... Think the same strain is happening stateside. My mom in the southern United States is quite ill with a flu bug.

Re: Off to Australia
I AM BACK IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING:
Although watching the England v New Zealand match almost put me back into bed again. I can see a brilliant final in Australia v New Zealand.
I have got more photographs to post but she who must be obeyed has just called me to come in for teaso I will pst them tomorrow. I will manage to put one in before I go.
The only two things that are now cheaper in Australia are Fuel and Beef.
