Missing my pup Empty Missing my pup

Post by SithTracy Thu Aug 14, 2014 12:25 am

Sad times with the Sith household. We had to put our old Cocker Spaniel down on August 12. I took this shot the night before. She had cancer tumors that caused her to struggle with the use of her rear legs. Was so hard for us all to say good-bye.

Here is a photo of her just a few months prior when she still had some spunk. Taking over the girls bean-bag chairs.

We need to mourn for a while, but I suspect a four legged friend my grace the Sith house again, perhaps next spring. I think old Jessie would want us to love another dog for her.

Gonna take time, zebs... Always had pets in my life since I was a kid. They are with us for short spans of our lives but make a huge impact. The house feels empty now. We have each other, but, those big brown eyes are missed by us all. Thanks for the thoughts.

Missing my pup Empty Introduction of the newest member of the SithClan

Post by SithTracy Mon Dec 29, 2014 3:17 am

We introduced a new member to our family this evening.  I shared the photo on Farcebook... Here is a link for those of you wise enough not to get on social networking:

Our new girl, Bailey @ Facebook

I was not sure if I was ready, and was very reluctant.  My wife has been on the lookout for a Cocker Spaniel for two weeks (I have a soft spot for the breed).  A young family recently got her while trying to raise three young children and realized they were not ready.  When he saw the dogs papers and noticed her birthdate, my wife saw it as a sign (and I am not religious at all).  This dog was born on the day our Jessie passed.  I will share more photos in time.

Happy for you mate.
We still have 3 felines in the house to fill any void we had with our pooch.
one or two still marking their territory...inside.GRRRR!
When they finally go ...along with the daughters... I want a rest from the damn things.
In due course we might one.
Next door has 2 horrible little barking mongrel terriers. So us getting one might make it worse...

I still have sad thoughts of having to have our Great Dane Henry put down. We also had an American cocker just like yours Tracy a lovely pet and companion. We have not had a dog now for 12 years I couldn't go through the trauma again when they passed away but I am thinking of starting again on our return to England.

I said never again once in 2001, but ended up getting another. And I did not say never again after we lost Jessie... I simply said, "Not right now. Perhaps in the spring", but Bailey found us through stupid Facebook and my wife on some rescue page. I'm going to go through it again. And yes, it is worth it. Dogs are awesome companions to come home to. For months the house has felt empty, but things are looking up as we start a new year with a new family member.

If you find room for a new dog, Les, share some photos.

Molly's looking good, Andrew!

Nice looking pup Tracy. I've always liked cocker spaniels. I remember having one when I was a kid living in Arkansas. It fell down a well and we had to pull it out by its big floppy ear. I'm happy for you and your family. Smile
