Aus won the toss and elected to bat first. An early wicket thanks to a poor call by Rogers... direct run out by Anderson. This could give England the confidence they need...

Apart from not getting any runs poor old Cook'y can't even win the toss. More terrible statistics England have never won an ashes test in Perth, England have never won an ashes test where they have batted second. I don't know where all these statistics are kept but this is not the time to start releasing them LOL.

Injuries have just blown any chance as well mate. Broad's shot from that LBW on his foot from Johnson. Swann copped one on the finger and has possibly done a hammy. When things don't go your way...
It'll be hard from here on... not impossible but hard.
