Christmas Plans ...?
Guys,
What's everyone up to for Chrissy this year ? Travelling ? staying home ? dinner and tea ...
Let's lighten the mood !!!
Me ... I'll be on standby for work so mercifully it's a built in excuse. We get to stay at home for a change ... for both dinner and tea. I'll shout myself something nice ... I'll crack the bottle of Lagavulin 16yr (scotch) and enjoy a dram. Only one in case I get a call-out.
The missus wants me to cook something Christmas day. I could try something on the BBQ. It's a gas one with a hood. Any ideas ?

Re: Christmas Plans ...?
Going to be a long day for me,
Drive to Sydney, pick up daughter and her boyfriend/partner, hate that expression, then drive to my neices for Christmas lunch with the familly, spend a few hours there, then back to kellys' drop her off and then home.
Approx 500klm round trip and 6hours on the road.
Stupid idea..yes
The reason for doing that... wait for it ..is the dog, she is 17yrs old and doesn't travel well these days, so it's a PITA but you have to do what you have to do.
Just hope we don't get stuck in any major traffic jams, there was a fatal accident just down the highway from me yesterday, road closed for hours, a very sad Christmas for those families.
Al, as far as cooking something, there is always 2 minute noodels, that way you don't get asked to cook again.
Have a safe Happy Christmas everyone.

Like it Andrew.
That plan has served me well in the past...
That's a hell of a day mate. Good Luck with it and be careful.

Re: Christmas Plans ...?
We will be staying home. Wife will be cooking a turkey on xmas day. Think lasagna on xmas eve. We will have a house full for sure. Chaos. Shopping is mostly done, wrapping is not started! I'm on call for the job and think after 3 days I already have my time in for the week. Ugh.
Tired as heck right now. Was a rough day. Have a great holiday, all.

Look at it this way Tracy... Only a few days to go... Whereas I start mine Thursday night. How long do you get between stints ? I have a feeling I'm in for a bad one... I'm due. It's going to get hot. The plant doesn't like hot weather.
Tomorrow morning is our branch xmas brekky. Having it at the same place as last year. Sheraton hotel down at the foreshore overlooking the bay. A pretty swanky place. plush surroundings and delicious food to boot. What makes it even better is.. it's free !
Out for tea tomorrow night as well. Off to one of the Pubs in the suburbs close to the city centre. Food is great and cheap as well. Friends of the family are meeting us there. A few beers with the meal will go down nicely.
Mandy's birthday is on Friday 21st. The girls and I will do a roast Pork.
I'll do it in the slow cooker and will try to do some 'crackling' to go with it.
We aren't spending too much on each other this year. It's for the girls primarily. bills, next years fees (for Em & Zo) and unforseen breakdowns have stopped any 'lashing out'. We'll work on it next year.
