We changed our laws here... It was hard but I feel things have improved.

I don't think gun control is the answer. If you think about it, drugs are illegal but folks find ways to get them. Same thing with guns. You take them away from the law abiding citizens, they will not be able to defend themselves. Yes... there is a problem here and it is the system itself. Corruption and greed surround us. Health Care is failing and this include mental health care. If general health care was more accessible here you would think someone would be able to identify the loons.

I have a problem with the media and how they report as well. They react, do not have facts and this guy gets fame in his death, the next whack job soaks this in like a starts planning ways to top the last whack job. In addition, it generates fear. Kids see this crap, young parents see this crap and they get all paranoid. Fear of sending their kids to school.

I am angry about what happened, but what do we do as a nation to change? Gosh damn tabloid media we have here and the corporations that run them need to get punished for putting false information out. Fined. Perhaps then they will be forced to learn true journalism and investigative reporting. Thing needs to be investigated before reporting lies.

You get no argument about the media. Just trying to sell their papers etc.

One of problems we have is when these clowns are in jail they are allowed to appeal their verdicts, sentences etc... all at a $ cost to the taxpayer and emotional cost to the victims and families. Why are we giving them this ?

Legal loopholes and questionable laws and rights. All branches of gov't are corrupt here. Business corporations and Law practice is corrupt. A politician here needs to stand up for what's right and represent the people. Sadly, those are just words. Realistically, it may take an uprising of the people, but I doubt that would happen in my lifetime. People here gossip on Farcebook and watch reality television and chit chat about the tabloid news and type on their fancy gadgets. The real news is buried as side notes between stories on the news about Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. Freedom has been taken for granted.

In politics and in negotiations, we deal in absolutes. We have two parties... if you are not part of one, you must be against it.

We, as a nation, need to get away from that kind of thinking and find some middle ground.

I'm not religious, but I wish for peace. I want to put my faith in my people and believe we are all capable of good. But not all of us are and it is hard to spot those that would harm us just for smiling.

Hi Guys I agree with tracy gun control is not the answer look what happened to us in the uk tighter control and still people got shot it will never stop while humans are involved and I'm not anti guns I use to own 2 12 bore shotguns and 5 rifles .22 .222 .243 .270 .308 and before anybody asks a different calibre for different jobs. when my renewal was due the police sent the local beat bobby who new jack s*** about firearms I could go on all day about this. but I will stop now. if it was up to me a death sentence no insanity plea and no sitting on death row for years

While I've never owned a gun I've shot quite a few over the years.... only in fun and the odd rabbit . Long time ago though. One Rifle put a beautiful bruise in my shoulder. Don't know the size. large ammo...

I feel this is a difficult one.
However feel there is a need to restrict some types of home defence.
Especially automatics.

The US accounts for 5% of the worlds' population.
Yet has over 50% when it comes to "private" weaponry.

Whilst it may not restrict the extremes.

Some control may go some way.

It is very rare over here, that someones registered weapon is involved in a crime. I do not feel an object; like a gun or a knife, are the problem. It is the society; it is the state of ones health; physical or mental. It is the folks who have nothing, that are picked on by someone with more. They are prompted by images of fashion and things they cannot afford that others they see day to day have. They are driven to take, they learn to hate other humans and have no regard for some key human emotions.

Only one of these involves the use of automatic (well semi) weapons.
Though even that is one too many.
However separated by years.

I am not saying it can't happen here.
But that the likelihood is hard to imagine........ When compared to the States.
Where shootings are daily.
Though, not necessarily on that scale.
