Hi Martin
My wife and I have just arrived back from South Africa, we went in mid August and got back on Monday. We stayed with Eileens brother and his wife, don't know why we came back to face the winter but mad dogs and Englishmen do sometimes leave the sun behind.
I am going into hospital on the 3rd Jan 2013 to have the left knee replaced, I am heading towards being the bionic man, having both knees replaced. The guy with whom I shared a room when I had my right knee done had, had both hips and both knees replaced so I will never catch him up....I HOPE.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours and I will be posting soon as I have arrived back to a computer problem which I hope one of you can help me with as my son who usually sorts me out is in Afghanistan and out of range.

Thought it was strange that there was no disparaging remarks about the Aussie cricket team.... (lost badly to South Africa).

My team is short a wicketkeeper so I had to take the gloves up again... My fingers are so sore !! Maybe I could get finger replacement ?

One thing that I have learned over the years is...NEVER, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE AUSSIES. Particularly when they are contesting the ashes. I do think that we will retain the ashes as apart from Clarke, I cannot see any other batsman to fear and your spinners are only just learning their trade. I also remember you being bottom of the world test rankings (No Bangladesh and Zimbabwe then) Alan Border was made captain and two years later you were top of the list. A BIG BUT, where are the new Ponting's, Warne's and McGrath coming from. May the best team win.
