Fishing.
Went fishing today, I didn't catch a thing..The wife caught these.
The bigest one is a Salmon, not very good eating, the other 3 are bream..pronounced brim.
The largest bream weighed 1.5 kilo and was 40cm long...biggest bream I've ever seen.

Your better half must be of good Yorkshire stock. Remember my friend "It is only a competition when we win". When we lose we are just giving encouragement.

Re: Fishing.
The sun is shining today although only 4 degrees Celsius. I will get my fishing tackle out and give it an airing. I will not sit on a pond bank until the celsius reading is in double figures.

Re: Fishing.
Thanks Andrew for that cheering observation. I had just convinced myself that summer was just around the corner.

Re: Fishing.
Very droll. The only problem is you could be right.
Reverting back to fishing your bream seem quite different to our bream, which is pronounced "breem" here. My son caught some in a match last year one of them weighed 14 pounds. When the bream get to that weight they are almost circular. I will find out if Stephen still had a picture and I will post it to show the difference.

Re: Fishing.
I won't say too much...
Only a handful of hot days down here.
Mind you that doesn't deter the serious fisherperson.
See them driving to and from work summer and winter.
Mad buggers !

Re: Fishing.
The father-in-law (long time parted...)
was a mad keen 'fisher'. Lived at Point Lonsdale . Did 12 hour rotating shifts at Alcoa in Geelong. Almost every free moment he was out in his boat. Knew all the good spots. Gee... reckon its been nearly 20 years now.... still miss him. Great bloke... Still ... Mad as....
Once it gets its 'hooks into you'.... ... Get it ?
Whiting was the bees knees... Anything less was given to the cat.
