I don't rip many discs these days, but gave up on CloneBD long ago. For the rare times I need to rip a disc, MakeMKV has done the trick. We stream like crazy these days... Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime. The disc and the need for them is dying, at least at my house.

Many commercial softwares is far behind open-source/freeware these days.

VidCoder sure is a nice piece of software. To get 'optimal' rips/encodes so is it a must imo to use "custom commandlines".

Personally so do i use MeGUI (https://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/). It's a gr8 piece of software but it's not a beginners software by far.
