Would you like to have ad free forum?
(Though only one ad currently, this will almost certainly change soon.)
Custom domain name change, to drop the UK bit?

Whilst there is a cost.
It is fairly minimal.
So I am initially prepared to bear this.
To be reviewed after 1 year.

Whereas, sometimes the ads bug me, I would rather deal with it rather than cost you "any" amount of money just for my satisfaction.

I agree.
What about the domain name.
When registering initially friendsofudvdr, there was only the forumotion.co.uk
I think it might be good to drop the .uk bit
But that does mean buying/renting a name.
It is something just about £12 a year.

For those interested in the cost.
Adfree is around half that.
Per year!

The .uk doesn't bother me at all, however, designation of a specific geographical area might affect others.

Made that mistake with knowledgetree....

Adblockers works just fine.

But a total adfree solution would also be nice 2 have. I have absolutely no problem with donating some $$$ for the cause. Think KT can vouch for me when it comes to that.

If it comes to that, you can count on me to offer up some $$$, as well.

I'll throw a few bob in as well, as long as it's PayPal..

The "advertisments disabled" for members.
Has started.
Domain name has to registered.
So may take a few days.
You will be able to continue with current as it would become default.
When done, I will announce it to all.

Who knows.
But there you are (for a year anyway)...

I know all to well the price for hosting then software if you go that route. So free isn't that bad the site loads quickly which is something you always want.

The only problem is the friends bit.

Personally I suggest you wait.
See how things develop.
If you click on the "Contribute" in the footer links.
The "donation" goes to forumotion.
But then shows up here as credits.

To repay me would be wrong.
I decided to "reward" the members for their loyalty.
It was my choice.
Done with no intentions of rewards.
Other than see the forum flourish.

I have this site on my favorites, so the spelling doesn't effect me. If it has ads, thats ok, just as long as it doesn't cost much for you guys and can be similar to the UDVDR!

Well the good news is ........
This site will stay pretty much as it is.
A legacy of UDVDR.
Some new forums may be added in the future.
But hopefully keep the feel of the original forum.
Advertisements should be held back from members view of the forum.
For 1 year, at least.

The name spelling is only significant if you recommend this site to someone.

The initial registration was somewhat limited.
Did not (just like UDVDR) wish to appear on the surface, showing a preference to one nation.
