Lost My Burner Empty Lost My Burner

One of my DVD burners isn't showing up ...
It's on my Vista PC. Don't know why... but it disappeared off the screen. It lights up when I put a disc in it.. but that's all.
It's the better one too.

Any ideas ?

Hi Smile
See here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/open-device-manager#1TC=windows-7
Using "Device Manager" remove device then reboot.
This should then discover device without any problems.

They do go bad though... I have had some just stop working on me. I've got several on shelves in my basement, still brand new in boxes (LG, LITE-ON, BenQ, NEC), and I rarely burn anything. Still got SCSI optical drives (Plextor!!! There's a name that has fizzled out)... Wish I would have not spent that money!!! Optical drives are just not as relevant today as they once were.
